1. DO know when it needs to be treated
    At least two weeks of constant blues with feeling of self worthlessness along with other signs might indicate that you have major depression(clinic depression). If you worry that you may have major depression, It is always better to consult a medical professional as depression can be a devastating disease if not treated.
  2. DO understand the reason of your mood
    It could be anything from a difficult homework to a conflict with your parents. Understanding what exactly caused your depressive mood will help you solve the problem.
  3. DON’T dwell on it.
    Now that you understood and handled the problem, let it go. Thinking it over and over won’t really help rather will make you feel even worse. If you are not able to solve the problem right away, accept it and move on.
  4. DO eat healthy no matter what
    Drop that bag of chips! Bars of chocolate can make you happy only while you eat it but you’ll feel regretful afterwards. No matter how sad you feel don’t abandon your healthy habits as this can lead to more problems later on.
  5. DON’T sleep it off
    Sleeping while sad or angry is never a good idea. Besides,you are more prone to have not so nice dreams. So at least wait until you are somewhat calm enough to have a good night’s sleep. You’ll thank yourself the next day.
  6. DO set the environment
    Light a few candles. Lie down and breathe deeply. Close your eyes and try to force a smile. Sometimes you need to fake it till you make it. Also rosemary oil is an instand calmer and mood improver so keep some ready by your bedside table.
  7. DON’T always expect it to just go away
    Especially if you haven’t tried anything yet. Just like anger or bordom, sadness will stick with you as long as you don’t shoo it away.
